El Paso residents chant Vote them out after the City Council votes to keep its tax incentive and water agreement with Meta for a Northeast El Paso data center.
"The crowd started to chant, Vote them out after the decision. At the meeting, many residents spoke out against the facility, with a few supporting it. Some say the center will deplete the area's water supply and compromise air quality. Others say the data center will bring jobs and prevent people. From leaving the city, the city manager says they cannot cancel the Meta agreement because it would be a financial risk to taxpayers. Meta is expected to bring 300 full time employees to run the data center,"
