Contribute
Data Center Record is free and carries no ads. It takes no money from data center developers, operators or advocacy groups. It is built and maintained by one person with AI tools, and every fact on it is tied to a source and a date. Contributions pay for the data, the processing and the hosting that keep it running and independent.
In plain words, a contribution pays for the hosting that serves the site, the archive that keeps a copy of every source, the model runs that read filings and news, and the mailing that sends the newsletter and alerts.
Who runs it
Data Center Record is an independent project of Colton Digital Consulting LLC, not a nonprofit. Nobody is paid from this and there are no ads or sponsors.
The funding rule
Data Center Record accepts contributions from individual readers and from foundations that publish their funding. It does not accept money from data center developers, operators, tenants or landlords, from utilities or power producers, from their trade associations, lobbyists, consultants or law firms, or from any campaign for or against a project or a ballot measure.
No contribution, at any size, buys a record, a correction, a placement, a deletion or a delay. Every record carries its sources and its last verified date whether or not anyone paid for anything. A contributor who asks for any of those things gets a refund.
If a contributor is later found to fall under the rule above, the contribution is returned.
