The act requires nothing of anyone. It lets the mayor and board of aldermen of the City of Brandon and the board of the West Rankin Utility Authority, together or separately and at their discretion, contract with the developer or operator of a data center or related technology facility to plan, design, build, run and maintain water and wastewater infrastructure, notwithstanding the general law on municipal contracting. Such an agreement may deliver reclaimed water to the facility for cooling or operations and collect and treat its wastewater, may run a primary term of no more than thirty years, and may be renewed at ten year intervals to no more than thirty years in all. Terms on assignment, on water volumes and treatment capacity and on rates may be included only where the developer pays the city's or the authority's construction costs from its own funds as the work progresses.
A law here is one statute, utility commission order, tariff, tax rule, moratorium or bill at the state level. What it requires is taken from the text, never summarized from coverage; a date the text does not give is left empty. Its status is one of five, defined on the laws index. The dated events beneath a law are the scorecard entries that cite it.
